Edinburgh Cow Parade ...
In 2006, the Cow Parade came to Edinburgh. The Prestoungrange Arts Festival purchased 2 cows. Myself and fellow artist and muralist, Tom Ewing, painted these two cows.
Toms cow was Alien Cow which shows an alien sitting in the belly of the cow, driving it. My cow was based on Redburn Dairy, with the farm animals found inside the cow.
Prestonpans, joined the Cow Parage trail with Alien Cow found outside the Prestoungrange Gothenburg and Redburn Dairy cow was placed down the Cowgate in Edinburgh.
Unfortunately, many of the cows ended up in Cow Hospital due to severe vandalism - mine too. Alien Cow was stolen from its plinth in Prestonpans and luckily found in a garden in Corstorphine. When the Cow Parade was finished, both these cows were returned home to graze at the home of the Arts Festival, the Goth in Prestonpans and can seen in the Goth gardens. These cows will be painted over annually.
