A wee bit about me...

Born in Scotland and growing up in South Africa has given me such a wealth of knowledge, heritage, culture and inspiration.

Africa is in my blood - the nature of the ever changing and challenging landscape, the raw instincts of wild African animals and the colour & culture of its people. Africa has given me a gift - which is a passion for life - and this is what I try to capture in my paintings. The majority of my paintings are African themed - lions, leopards, zebra, elephants, rhino (the big five especially) but many too are of its people. African people are amazing to paint. Their skin has a phanominal reflective quality that captures light and disperses colour. Their faces tell of their land, their ancestors and their life - their souls are in their eyes!

PS - I have "a thing" about eyes, so I try to hold the moment in the glance - beast or man

Scotland is in my heart - it is my home! It is also the land of Hi'land Coo! A comical, gorgeous creature that I have fallen in love with. I will be concentrating on a series of Coo paintings this year and will have all the pics up on the web as soon as they are complete.
